Children North East/Fundraising

Children North East relies heavily on the help of the local community to support the many and varied projects that we manage throughout the region and fundraising is a vital part of the organisation.

Children North East is very grateful to the players of the People's Postcode Lottery in England. With their help we have been able to help children, young people and families throughout the North East who are experiencing difficult times in their lives.

The donations received so far from the Postcode Lottery amounts to over £80,000 and have helped us, amongst many other things, to do the following:

Fire & Ice Expeditions - Children North East is delighted to have been chosen as one of the seven charities to benefit from the intrepid adventures of members of County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service who are aiming to climb the highest mountain on each of the 7 continents of the world. The Fire & Ice Expeditions are full of excitement and we wish the members of the team all the luck in the world. • Nominate us as the Charity of the Year at your workplace or school - if your workplace or school raises money throughout the year for a charity. Join companies like those below and many others who have helped and supported us throughout the year.

One of our latest corporate adoptions is River Escapes who operate sightseeing cruise trips down the Tyne and also river party trips. They were quick to see the connection between their trips and our original trips for children way back in the early days of the charity. River Escapes are displaying our collecting cans and buckets on their boats and they are mentioning our history in the running commentary for the trips. They are also offering us a £1 donation from every family ticket sold for their themed cruises until December 2008. • Sponsor one of our events or campaigns. Sponsorship packages are always available for our events and campaigns, you can even sponsor our Newsletter or Annual Report. • Leave us a legacy - 75% of the population do not have a will. To save heartache and trouble for your family after you have gone, please consider making a will and at the same time making a bequest to Children North East. Leaving a legacy is a lasting tribute to you, which costs nothing while you are alive.
