Children
North East relies heavily on the help of the local community
to support the many and varied projects that we manage throughout
the region and fundraising is a vital part of the organisation.
There
are many ways that people and businesses can help us to raise
money.
The People's Postcode Lottery
Children
North East is very grateful to the players of the People's
Postcode Lottery in England. With their help we have
been able to help children, young people and families throughout
the North East who are experiencing difficult times in their
lives.
The
People's Postcode Lottery is a charity lottery with the aim
of increasing awareness and raising funds for charities across
the country - enabling them to achieve more than ever before.
Launched
in 2005, the People's Postcode Lottery represents a unique
fundraising concept where players play with their postcode
to win cash prizes whilst supporting local charities.
With 40p from every ticket going direct to local charities,
over £8.5 million has been raised for great causes across
the UK.
Since
April 2008 the players of the People's Postcode Lottery have
raised £267,239 for Children North East which has helped
us, amongst many other things, to do the following:
- provide childcare and family support
to families living in temporary homeless accommodation.
- train and support volunteers to work
with families going through a difficult time
- support young people living in some of
the region's most socially deprived areas
- form nurture groups that help parents
to teach personal hygiene, social skills and healthy eating
to their children.
Jeremy
Cripps , Chief Executive of Children North East says "Playing
the People's Postcode Lottery makes a difference to so many
lives - so thank you and please continue your support".

If you would like
to play the Postcode Lottery then just visit www.postcodelottery.co.uk
or call freephone 0808 10 9 10 10. Not only will you be helping
to support Children North East and various other local organisations,
but you could be one of the 90 winning postcodes who share
prizes of between £30,000 and £20 every week.

Children
North East has contracted with thePeople's Postcode Lottery
organisation to become a promoter of the Lottery and as
